BEHIND THE SCENES AT BRIDGEWAY

By Dana Brown
Director of Fundraising

Bridgeway always has projects silently taking place “behind the scenes”.   Sometimes these are magically accomplished by volunteers, and sometimes Bridgeway must put out a call for help.

One of the most exciting, recent activities has been the change-out of old, steel-framed single-paned windows for new vinyl windows.   This project was completed just before the March blizzard!   Wow!   What timing!

Because Bridgeway is a nonprofit stretching every dollar as far as possible, we needed to find a company which would provide a savings to us while doing quality work.   Thanks to Rich and Terry, Accent Windows met our need and installed a total of 25 beautiful double-paned windows in various sizes.

Now the Bridgeway residents and babies will have a cooler summer and warmer winter-instead of the other way around!

The blizzard brought its own set of challenges to Bridgeway.   Heavy snow which accumulated on rooftops proved to be too much for one of our storage sheds.   Its roof caved in, and the shed cannot be repaired.   We are hopeful that a new shed will be provided by someone, yet unknown, along with a work group to set it on a foundation.   If you are reading this article and can offer us a sturdy shed (or the lumber to build one), please call Mary Ann at 303-969-0515 ext. 10.

Finally, due to new regulations, we have a need for a new dishwasher with a sanitation cycle.   At Bridgeway, sometimes “behind the scenes” needs to be in the spotlight!   And for everything that you already do for the residents and babies, we are most humbly grateful!
