As the new Director of Fundraising, I am finding every day holds new and exciting potential! I am meeting supporters who have been here for Bridgeway from day one. To see the individuals who stop by the office with donations of baby items and/or checks deeply moves me. The next day I am meeting with individuals and businesses who are just finding out about Bridgeway and, together, we are trying to find ways in which they can support our endeavor of helping young women and their children like no one else can.
With the devastation of Katrina and the generosity shown to these poor victims, I am finding a challenge in obtaining support for us as well. Our major fundraiser of the year, which is a tremendous percentage of our income, is not all that far away. We are currently trying to obtain Live and Silent Auction items. This all takes time, connections and energy to find businesses and individuals who may have already given to other charities, but have something left for us. We will find a way; however, we need your telephone call to direct us! Let me know of anyone or anything that will help us come next February 10, 2006, at the "Bridgeway to Hope" fundraiser.
All by ourselves we may not be able to do near what we can do together! I thank you for believing in us and for your invaluable support.
We believe in supporting those businesses that support Bridgeway. By holding an event at your business, you benefit and so does Bridgeway. Call Debbie Dispense, Director of Fundraising, today at (303) 969-0515 extension 15 and let's see what we can do to make a difference for you and for our moms and babies!
Our special thanks to Steve Taylor and everyone at Peak Automotive Group for their very generous donation of a 1998 Dodge Caravan. Our old 1991 van was truly on its last wheels! We were not sure HOW we would be able to afford a replacement vehicle when Steve stepped forward and generously helped us out. We are so very grateful for this amazing donation. Please remember Peak Automotive, located at 5067 S. Wadsworth, when looking for a new or used automobile and tell Steve "thanks" again.
In August, owner Jancie Frisby and her staff held the cutest fashion show with models ranging in ages from 6 months to 12 years old. Fall fashions were the style of the day, but we received a percentage of the day's receipts. Stop by Belly, a store for pregnant women and children, located in Cherry Creek North at 3003 E. 3rd Avenue.
Sunday is usually the day off for the Café Jordano Restaurant; however, owners Troy and Elise Heitman opened their doors and hearts on a Sunday night for a special "Night for Bridgeway". The night included special drawings for prizes and their suppliers got behind this endeavor with donations of bread and wine. The amazing wait staff donated their time and ALL of their tips! Many diners also opened up their checkbooks and gave additional donations for a total amount raised of over $4000! Our special thanks to everyone who dined in for Bridgeway and to Troy and Elise Heitman. Stop by for dinner at Café Jordano located at Kipling and Jewell in Lakewood.
Bridgeway's 6th Annual Dinner/Auction Fundraiser will be held on Friday, February 10, 2006, from 5:30p.m.-10:30 pm at the Belmar Event Center, 405 S. Teller Street (old Villa Italia) in Lakewood. The Bridgeway to Hope Benefit will feature food, fun and wonderful auction items and all the proceeds will support the young women and babies of Bridgeway. This benefit makes a major difference in their lives.
Through the generosity of our sponsor, Statewide Wholesale Inc., we have been able to secure this exciting new location and keep the cost at $100 per person.
Table sponsors will be offered at two levels: $3,000 and $1,500. The silent auction will begin at 5:30 pm with our live auction commencing right after dinner and just before Chris Daniels and the Kings take the stage. Once again, we will have a large force of volunteers working behind the scenes, thereby eliminating all lines for people who purchase auction items. And, you will have the opportunity to have a great evening while benefiting Bridgeway's on-going programs.
Our entertainment includes Chris Daniels and the Kings, Gary Corbett (auctioneer extraordinaire), and the lovely Molly Hughes of CBS News 4 as our honorary Chairwoman. Jo Myers and Murphy Huston, popular broadcasters with KOSI 101, will once again serve as our Mistress and Master of Ceremonies.
So mark your calendars now for this special evening. Invitations will be in the mail in early January. Not sure if you're on our mailing list? Make a quick phone call to the office at (303) 969-0515 or send an email to: Bridgeway@bridgewayhomes.org today and request a Bridgeway to Hope Benefit invitation!
