VOLUNTEER CORNER

By Mary Ann Forman
Director of Volunteers

I realize that we are looking towards next year and our fundraiser, but first I would like to recognize some faithful volunteers who are not always in the limelight.   There are so many of you that I don't have space here to put all your names, but I want you to know you are appreciated.   This newsletter wouldn't get out so quickly and smoothly without the help of many, many volunteers.   I appreciate those I only call on every 3 months, who willingly give up 2 to 6 hours of their time to staple, label and organize over 4,000 newsletters.

I also appreciate all those of you who are available, on a moments notice, to baby-sit Bridgeway's precious babies on a Tuesday or Thursday evening, even in a snowstorm.   Those of you who have presented life skills classes on those evenings are very much appreciated, also.   I have spoken with former residents who still remember many of those classes and talk about the impact the classes made on their lives.

This Spring we have had several different work groups that helped with painting, yard work, planting, weeding, etc. and I would like to thank all of you who gave up time on a Saturday morning, or evening, or week day to share your talents in this way with Bridgeway.

We have recently been involved in painting, re-carpeting, and updating the look in the Bridgeway office with the wonderful help of several people from the Knights of Columbus, Belmar Optimists, as well as other volunteers.   This was a huge project and we appreciate the hours and hours of energy, muscle, and talents given so freely by all of these people!

Bridgeway's next volunteer orientation will be held on Saturday, August 7, so please call me at 303-969-0515 if you would like to become one of these MUCH appreciated volunteers!
