Summer 2006 Bridgeway Newsletter

All Grown Up

By Carole Haas, Executive Director

I was invited to a very special event this spring.   I was able to attend the high school graduation party of a former baby born at Bridgeway, now grown up and ready to attend college in the fall.   He gave me a bouquet of roses and thanked me for having been at his birth so many years ago.  His mom was beaming.

Raising him on her own had been a struggle, but the look of pride and joy said more than words could about what she was feeling.  This young man will offer the world something very special.   Watching him graduate reaffirms for us that we really are impacting two generations as usually it is the moms we see attaining this goal.  We know there are many more high school and hopefully college graduations to look forward to.  Thanks to all of you for making dreams like this possible.
