Recently, I visited the house, which I always look forward to....getting to hold babies....visiting with our moms....and am always so impressed with everyone there!  These young women are really trying to turn their lives around.  They want a better life for themselves and their babies.  They appreciate that Bridgeway is there to give them support at a time when, for whatever reasons, no one else could or would.

Often the girls ask me what do I do at Bridgeway?  I tell them that I am one of many that "beg for dollars" to help Bridgeway do what it does, most are shocked that someone does that.  I then share with them some of my fundraising experiences with various companies and individuals.  These young women often can’t believe how much these groups care and what they are doing for them.  All of a sudden, the circle of giving seems complete!

The businesses and groups I speak to know of the young women and their babies.  The young women know that the Denver community is really there to support them.  Finally, the volunteers and staff are the glue that makes it all come together!  And so I again thank all of you for helping Bridgeway continue to change lives.  I also strongly encourage you to support any of the upcoming Bridgeway events that directly benefit our moms and babies.

Foundation Generosity

Since the last newsletter, Bridgeway has received several corporate or private foundation grants to help us meet the needs of our moms and babies.  While many of the foundations wish to remain anonymous, the Colorado Health Foundation, the Adolph Coors Foundation, the Kenneth King Foundation, and the Burt Foundation graciously agreed to be recognized for their generosity.  Everyone at Bridgeway is deeply appreciative of this financial assistance.

A Very Special Thank You to Dan & Marilyn Andrews and John & Terry Hill

Dan and his wife, Marilyn, have shown tremendous generosity through recent wine tasting events in individuals homes that benefited Bridgeway.  They have not only donated some of the wine, but their time, as well as Dan’s expertise as a sommelier.  (That means he’s a "wine expert"!)  These "mini-fundraisers" are a great way to host a party for your friends, neighbors and/or business associates as well as raise additional funds for Bridgeway.  Our special thanks also to John and Terry Hill who hosted a fabulous night at their home this past April!
