LIFE AT BRIDGEWAY INCLUDES GOALS AND GROWTH FOR ALL

By Carole Haas, Executive Director

This is our last newsletter of 2003.   In so many ways it feels like the year flew by and in other ways it has moved very slowly.   There is so much to do, and I am often filled with anxiety about achieving all of our goals.   I want so much for our residents and their children.

Because they are young, coming from a variety of backgrounds, often lacking someone who believes in them and all they have to offer this world, many of our young moms are afraid to take the steps that they need to succeed.   Trying to help them understand that they really ARE magnificent is a challenge.   We expect them to go forward, we cheer each success, and we try to offer them the tools that they need to become successful.

I love seeing one of them jumping up and down because she got her first job.   I love to see the pride in a girl’s eyes as she joyfully tells me she got her GED.   Your help enables these young women to become their best.   When a mom feels better about herself, she is able to do a better job of parenting.   Hope for a better future is a powerful motivator.

We really do need your help so very much.   Everyone knows the economy is challenging.   Times are not easy.   It takes a lot to help young moms realize their dreams.   Thanks for all of your help in the past, but I am so counting on you to help us continue to move forward.   It is at times overwhelming to keep everything on track.

The Mardi Gras on Friday, February 20th is our only fundraiser of the year.   Please support it any way you can.   It really is going to be so much fun this year.   I hope to see many of you there.

We hope throughout the holiday season and all year you know how much we appreciate your loving, caring, amazing support.   Bridgeway would not and could not be without all of you that believe in us and that help us make a difference!
